Budget is the key role player in any country’s economy. Specially for agriculture it plays the most inevitable role. After the Bangladesh liberation, each and every government spoke of the budget and more importantly has given the agriculture sector a special care or value, concerning Budget. Most importantly, the farmers of Bangladesh rarely know any information regarding the budget and have no idea regarding the change in the market, regarding the budget. They don’t know even have the knowledge about the subsidies in the different agricultural sectors. Shykh Seraj personally thought to make aware most of the farmers, all around the country, while conducting field-seminars in distant villages. Shykh Seraj also thought to educate the farmers even more in the grounds and aspects of Budget, the part with which agriculture and the farmers’ future was involved. It was a great success and concerned authorities of the Agriculture Ministry and the policy makers were very much influenced too due to this different kind of an initiative taken by Shykh Seraj. And, those farmers who regarded Budget as a myth, started regarding it as a part of their fundamental development due to this alternative development method by none other than Shykh Seraj, the super-creative of agriculture. All these field-seminars were made televised in Hridoye Mati O Manush. And, this televising was also for the very first time in Bangladesh. Solution is termed as magic when it stands in front of Shykh Seraj who thought, is thinking and will think only for the betterment, considering how to entirely eradicate poverty and hunger while ensuring food security from out of Bangladesh.
Following up Agriculture Budget, Farmer’s Budget- “Agriculture of Bangladesh: Problem, Possibility and Things to be done”, titled recommendations submitted to the Government:
Yet again, for the very first time in Bangladesh, after the field-seminars, regulated in various parts of the country, Shykh Seraj tried to implement a substantial idea. On 25th June, 2007, Shykh Seraj presented 21 recommendations to the Finance and Planning Ministry, based upon the information and experience, gathered from the field-level research conducted by him and his research team members. In that programme Dr. C.S. Karim, the Agriculture Adviser, and eminent Economist, Education, Planning specialist and farmers from around the country were present. In brief the 21 recommendations were as such:

On behalf of the popular agricultural programme, Hridoye Mati-O-Manush, Shykh Seraj had personally presented all these recommendations to the government. This initiative from a programme director, planner and presenter is quite remarkable at any part of the world, let alone Bangladesh. The super-creative Shykh Seraj gave the government the idea how things should be executed and most of the agricultural policies are now being made, after the gathering of knowledge from the televising of the 3 popular programmes by Shykh Seraj. This is simply a revolutionary idea for any country for how a media person should play his role in agriculture. It was possible only by this diligent man whose aim is to wash out hunger and poverty from the country and this was just another step taken by him to do so. |
